I think he might work at some luxury car dealership in or around Naperville, IL (a suburb of Chicago). Which has Maserati, Lexus, BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover, etc. dealerships there, so it could any of those.
Definitely not Maserati (they don't sell 20-30 a month at any dealership) and probably not Land Rover/Jaguar either (same reason).
I am looking at a Lease (GM), and they are offering incentives......who actually is taking the hit on the incentives ????....does the dealer take the hit, or does GM ??
Costco and Consumer Reports have "car-buying" services that supposedly get you the absolute minimum price, with the quote provided via email and no visit to the dealership required.
Is any of that true?
absolutely
If it's not rock bottom, it's like 200 or 300 bucks over

I start off every deal at MSRP. I'm in the business to make money
So a 2012 Acura TL you would mark up $6k if you paid $18k for it? I test drove a FWD model, list price was $21500, they offered it to me for $17500 without hardly any negotiating on my part, but I really want an AWD model, which a couple different dealers have listed for $24k.
I don't know what the hell they're doing. I've never heard of a dealer chopping off a used car price 4,000
I've worked at 4 dealerships and have friends at 10-15 others. Every place I've seen or heard barely negotiates on their used cars and if they do, it's maybe 500 or a 1000 off
this is the tough thing with used cars. Because they're all unique, there's no real 1 fits all rule for negotiation.

actual incentives - IE cash back, special financing - is all by the manufacturer
Discounting a car 3 Gs below MSRP is only affecting the dealer

HEs lonely! 700 some odd posts since July, mostly about his lack of a love life, tells me he really doesn't sell cars, but just sit in mamas basement playing on the computer all day, OR he does really sell cars, and finds time throughout the day to constantly post on CD.
Funny, this seems like a personal attack which I didn't think was allowed on here.
