They should make a new Monza. That would get some attention.

My favorite Vega feature: Watching the road go by through the rusted out floor.

The Pinto is coming back, but the gas tank isn't going to be in front, it's going to be under the front seats.

Ya know, I needed a laugh.

How about NOT using old names? Malibus used to be cool. Now they're fleet vehicles. Let the classic names rest in peace.

LOL!!! I think I should've googled "Chevrolet Vega" before starting this thread. Forgive me....... Pretty much all the google results echo what you guys are saying.

Maybe the tidbit in the newspaper was a misprint. God, I hope so.

Hay, I loved my Vega until it started blowing oil. Ran alot better with a small block in it.

Default I remember

my neighbor had bought a new 1973 Ford Pinto runabout station wagon, yellow with brown interior, very cute looking but the engine would barely run. the car stalled constantly, they were always restarting it and i found out later that the car had some kind of defect so my neighbor had bought into this problem

they moved in 1974 so i never had a chance to find out what happened to the car or how long they kept it for(amazed that they were actually able to get the car out of the neighborhood)

I loved the Vega, easy to drop a small block in, they made complete kits to turn it into one fast street racer and/or drag racer.

Above is a 1973 Vega on ebay... this one has been converted to a 350 V8 engine.

The Vega Cosworth is a collectors car... it has a twin cam fuel injected engine (not many cars had FI in the mid 70s).
