The point I was making was that Tony makes it off of his NBA resume, its a tad stronger than Manu's resume, NBA only.
yes i realize that, my comment was in response to mathguys post about the basketball ref system of HOF percentage odds.
that is a good HOF measure BUT it only takes into account NBA experience and no outside experience.
the biggest knock on manu in the nba is his willingness to play that 6th man role. he was for a couple of years the 2nd best SG in the league, at worst 3rd best but he, in the name of winning, willingly came off the bench. tony also has 1 more year in the nba and is younger so he has a better chance of better numbers over the long haul.
the problem with that system is it doesnt take anything but NBA into account. even states must have 400 nba games to be eligible.
it shows manu as a 20% chance which we both know is terribly low.
Exactly. The only reason I was showing it was to settle the discussion as to whether if Tony Parker had any international accolades if it was needed and based upon what is shown the answer is no.
Parker and Ginobli are both 100% when considering everything.
Duncan ranked higher than Cousins/Carmello? As far as filling a role for the Spurs - Duncan may be the best player in the NBA. However, if asked to carry a heavier load (35-40 minutes/#1 option), I may take a few of those players ahead of Duncan. Still impressive that he's in the conversation for top 15.
According to this list, the Spurs are loaded:
#74 Splitter
#53 Parker
#50 Green
#12 Aldridge
#11 Duncan
#10 Leonard
Now throw in Diaw (should be on top 100), Mills, West, Ginobili, McCallum and the best coach- we are talking '97 Bulls talent wise. Ring or bust this season for the Spurs.
there is no spur that is the best post Jordan player, sorry timothy
Do you have some rationale for that?
If you go off titles, accolades, all-nba teams etc. it pretty much turns into a dog-fight between Kobe & Duncan with an incomplete grade for Lebron.
If you go off who at the top of their game was the beastliest then that brings Shaq into the discussion too.
It's hard to take anyone too seriously if they are refusing to even entertain the idea that Duncan or Kobe is not worthy of being part of the discussion.

I go off of watching the game! Duncan is not close to being the most dominant player post Jordan.
