Shaq vs Duncan

For me this is a simple question with a four letter answer. S-H-A-Q!
He may have had the steeper decline with his age, but Shaq was among the most dominant players this league has ever seen. There is a very strong argument that the league changed the rules of the game itself to slow him down, something never even contemplated for Duncan.
Tim Duncan has been dominant over a longer period, but he never reached the heights that Shaq did during his run on top.

Shaquille O'neal:

".... Played for three different teams. Changed three different franchises around. This is a guy who they would have secret meetings about to change the rules. So, that’s going to be my legacy: the most dominant player ever"

A lot of people were in awe of Lebron going for 26.9 ppg while shooting 57%...that was for two seasons. Shaq had a 10 year stretch where he went for 28.1 ppg while shooting 58%. I can't think of any player in the modern era with those numbers for that long. I can't even find a 10 year stretch for Kareem that tops Shaq in scoring/efficiency. Jordan of course scored a little more, but his fg% wasn't close to 58%.

When virtually all of your shots are within 8' feet of the rim, that's not so impressive. LJ (and MJ) scores from all over the court, while most of Shaq's shots were layups and dunks.

in addition, shaq never had a 28.1 over 10 year stretch and averaged over 28 a total of 5 times in his career.

mr haskell needs to go back and bother the beaver instead of trying to fluff and move goal posts

Tell me you're joking? You are penalizing a 300lb 7'1" center for shooting too close to the basket? Lol.

divided by 10 seasons equals 27.91 not 28.1

again shaq only had 5 seasons over 28 ppg in his career, and none were so far over 28 to kick his average up that far.

goal post firmly put back into place.

quick, there goes the beav. better catch him

I've seen Duncan dominate against plenty of people....again....what about when he bounced Kobe AND Shaq from the playoffs on their own court?

Is that impossible? lol.

Wrong again bro. You're starting to embarrass yourself. PPG = points per game. Over 10 seasons Shaq played in 661 games and scored 18582 points. Doing the math that is 28.1 PPG....as if the difference between 27.91 and 28.1 even matters anyway. Seriously - how old are you? 18 or 19?

Just. Stop. Trying. To. Debate.
