Westbrook's all-time great statistical production is hurting LeBron's legacy, because Westbrook isn't even among the 5 best players in the NBA, so it gives the impression that great stats don't matter.
If LeBron had any edge over Michael Jordan its the assists and rebounds, but the value of those stats is being lost when Westbrook is doing what he's doing.
Whereas nobody is hurting Michael Jordan's legacy, because nobody in today's game is even close to 6 Finals MVPs or 10 scoring titles, and those are Michael Jordan's 2 greatest achievements, and you can't really get those achievements without being the best player in the NBA.
Durant has 2 Finals MVPs and he's generally not considered the best player in the NBA, but if he won 6 Finals MVPs he'd be considered the best player in the NBA at some point.
Don't look now but the Nets have quietly won 13 of their last 17, including beating the Raptors in their previous meeting. Could be a first round match up.
After calling his team 'soft' Simmons delivers 20 points, 22 rebounds and 9 assists in a win at Madison Square Garden.
Simmons may be the best leader in the NBA today.
Lakers don't have much way of generating offense without LeBron, because Ball isn't aggressive enough, and Rondo isn't there.
Kuzma is a top scorer, but he's not a facilitator so he gets his points and goes home.
But even if they got another facilitator they'd still be reliant on LeBron to run the show in the playoffs anyway, so that facilitator would take a back seat.
Rondo is easily enough to cover for LeBron when LeBron is injured, but Lakers are just unlucky to be without LeBron and Rondo at the same time.
And they could do with another elite shooter/scorer so trade Ball for something good (seeing as Ball isn't able to carry the offense in LeBron/Rondo's absence).

Simmons isn't the team's leader. He's not #2, either. Also, the Knicks are junk.

Well Embiid has no leadership skills, that's for sure, basically a giant toddler.
And Butler is known as a cancer (I don't think he is, but he's got some problems).
Philly won 9 in a row at the end of last season, without Embiid.
