I am a mother of two, 5y/o and 1y/o, and I am a native of CA, I just recently finished my LVN program and am interested in moving to Baton Rouge, (the nursing shortage here is non-existent). I have a friend who I visited there a 2 years ago and I fell in love with the atmosphere (people) there. I would like to raise my family in Louisiana, cause as I see it, CA is getting to rough for my liking. I am estatic about moving to BR, but am a little worried after reading previous posts about apartments and the schools there.

I am interested in looking up info about Zachary or Central, but not getting as many hits about apartments as I am getting for Baton Rouge, could someone suggest good areas to live in, in baton rouge, I'd rather not have my car or apartment broke into.

Also, if there are any particular schools (in Central, Zachary or BR) that have services to help with speech problems, as my 5 y/o has speech problems identified by our school district.

I could tell you if you posted an address. I'm not certain where Savoy is offhand. BR is a pretty big place, mileage wise.

If you can, househunt in Zachary. I'm not sure how much there is to rent out there, but the school district is the best.

There are Reallty companies that assist with apartment hunting . If you are from out of town and not familiar with the area , that might be a good option .
