Sadly, many people go through life unaware of not only themselves, but others as well. Completely oblivious. It’s scary.

On that we agree!

Unfortunately it seems to be growing everywhere else too. In my location in Alaska there are so many more people with dogs these days, with a large portion disrespectful of others by ignoring lease laws. No dogs barking ad nauseum though, that nonsense would not be tolerated here.

I'm sitting here (Florida) wishing I could be sitting in Ken's House of Pancakes, having a Loco Moco for breakfast. But, at this point, I'm afraid that ship has sailed.

IHOP is just as good. I didn’t find anything special about Ken’s or any food on the BI. If you want awesome diner type food, NJ is the place to go.

Comparing Ken's to IHOP is a joke! Starting with the waitresses who have been at Ken's for what seems like 50 years, and then considering the 10 page menu that includes every local dish you can imagine. Nyfinestbxtf, does your NJ diner have lilikoi milkshakes???

Not really. Hilo has an IHOP and was there long before I moved to the BI and is really no different than Ken’s in my opinion. Neither of the two highlighted quotes are related. You’re thinking too much into it.

For what it’s worth, I lived in a few places and wasn’t impressed with much of the food in any of them except for NYC area and North Eastern Pennsylvania.

That is your opinion. My opinion is different. There is nothing for you to be offended by. Just saying I’m not impressed. That’s all. I’m not saying the food is bad, but to be desiring so much? I have a different take. My opinion of Ken’s has nothing to do with waitresses who have been working there for 50 years. They are great. NJ diners has books for menus of everything you can imagine. They probably have a lilikoi milkshake too. Ever been to a Jersey diner? They even have pictures of all the dishes. NJ is the Mecca of diners.

Ken's menu is like the menu at a Cheesecake Factory. There are simply too many choices. Those are the only two places where I have a hard time making a choice.

Ken's is good but I prefer the Manago Hotel in Captain Cook.

Well now, enjoy those New Jersey diners now that you live in Georgia? I am sorry that you couldn't
build a foundation for your life going forward here in Hawai'i. If it is any consolation, your are not
alone. Many have come and gone. Learn It. Live it. Accept it. Good Luck.
