I can appreciate that. I would never move because of a neighbor's views either. But if I can avoid an n-word ranting, raving, racist by not moving in next door to him, I might just consider that.

Default Thank God for a conservative state

Look. There are plenty of liberals and conservatives in each state in the US. Idaho THANK GOD is a generally conservative state...politically. Its fine to jump conservatives and trash Fox News. BUT you have to realize that Fox beats ANY other news shows every day in viewers. If you dislike the conservatives of Idaho..well you have options. Parts of Boise are liberal. Democratic representatives. I wouldnt live in the North End if you gave it to me. But Id live in other areas of Boise and surrounding areas. Your liberal ideas havent worked and Idahoans know that. Good for them !!

Politics - It all seems so pointless in this age of dysfunctional government seized up by political party gridlock, special interest groups, insurmountable government debt and puppet presidents. The entire system is broken and will remain so for a very long time regardless of who occupies the White House. It's obvious to me that all of the network news stations follow their own agendas and are nauseating to watch. The smartest thing I ever did was throw away my television. Sure, I sound like a defeatist but I'm tired of the corruption and am focused on survival because I don't intend on relying on the government for ANYTHING including social security. I'm only disappointed that hurricane Irene was not strong enough to wash D.C. out to sea with all the politicians so we can start over with a governing system that works.

Agreed.

But at the same time, politics is so funny. I love when people trash everyone else's politicians but continue to vote their person in year after year after year. No wonder we all keep getting the same ol' crap time and time again.

2010 was fascinating because the anti-incumbent fervor was at an all time high, and everyone was convinced a change of power was in the best interest of the nation. What really happened? More of the same.

Elections are like being a Cubs fan: every year is the year; optimism is always renewed. But... what ends up happening is yet another losing season.

Misinformed individuals of any political persuasion scare me.

That's the scariest thing of all.

Corporate media is killing America.

Point taken. Just to clarify, I realize the bumbling buffoons who are supposed to represent the people are on vacation so my diabolical hope to have them all washed into the sea by Irene would be without result.

I have been unemployed for over a year and am coming to Boise for a job interview later this week, hoping I can turn things around for my family before our COBRA coverage (that I pay over $1100/month for) runs out.

If the job is offered to me, will I be able to find ANY like-minded people in Boise?

Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.
So...in a conversation about living around like-minded individuals you've already managed to interject partisan jabs toward about 70% of the population of Idaho.

This is NOT the live-and-let-live attitude in Idaho. I may not care for your politics or how you vote, but I'm not going to throw it in your face either.

With what you've posted here so far, if you move to Idaho and verbalize everything you've said here ad nauseum, you're going to be unpopular with a HUGE percentage of the population here. Just so long as you're ready to be unwelcome in most circles, then I guess you're OK.

You need to refrain from making this a partisan politics thread if you plan on posting in the Idaho subforum in the future.
