I finished The Enchanted April by Elizabeth von Amim. It’s a quiet book and doesn’t require much concentration. Well written with highly developed characters. Only 149 pages. Delightful
I finished The Feather Thief and I would highly recommend it. I don't want to give too much away but it's non fiction and based on something that happened within the last 10 -12 years, about which I had never heard a thing. The background and everything about it is just incredible. As the title suggests, there was a theft from a British museum..... but trust me it's worth the read. I would give it 4 stars. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/...dmQh0Gv&rank=2
I find with books with old-fashioned language and syntax that I do best when I read in long stretches. It is hard for me to put down and pick up classics like that. A couple of years ago, I went on a Jane Austen binge because once I had the rhythm of the speech, I just kept going before I lost my "skills".
I'm still slogging through Emma, while reading a biography of Jane Austen (which is a lot more interesting to me than Emma). But I told myself that I would finish it this time!

I read that one earlier this year and also liked it. Kudos to the author for bird-dogging the mystery and getting interviews, including with the Teflon-boy thief.
This was a very short book at 179 pages and easy to read, it was a sweet read, I'm giving it 3 stars.
Started "The Guest Book" by Sarah Blake, but gave up on it around page 75. I could feel myself having to push myself through it, and asked myself if I really wanted to read something where I really had to push, especially for 486 pages...

I seem to be on a roll now with non fiction- The Feather Thief, The Beneficiary, and now just started Code Girls..
Really good books.
