Happens more often than you think homie - there's a BHA property along with all the wonderful things it brings at 5 Melville Ave. The houses are indeed gorgeous but the hood is literally just a block away.

SFHs in the Melville Avenue Area used to sell for $100K-$120k back in the 90's. Add perhaps another $50-100K for the large Victorians. Oh man, so affordable then! That whole neighborhood after all is full of old homes that need updating as is much of the rest of Dorchester.

True. I think people forget how old so much of Boston's housing stock. I, as do many find the old Victorian homes to be very charming. It's not so charming when you find out how much it costs to update them though.

As far as declaring an emergency are they going to actually do anything? Or just declare an emergency

Aren’t those the same “leaders” and “reverends” that are always screeching “fukk da puh-leece?” Also which one is our homie, the grumpy dude in a green puffer?

These happen to be "community leaders", with no real power to "declare an emergency". That falls on the dear mayor. Hopefully they can muster up some action, given what little motivation exists among the city leaders to address this problem that is becoming out of control.

Oh this isn't out of control. Boston is perfectly safe, one of the safest cities. Nothing to see here folks.

Sincerely,

i know that property- not a problem property. The biggest issue near Melvill ave is Dunlap Street.
