They are in over their heads, and it's no surprise given the cast of characters running the city now. We have a crew that can talk a good word salad game, design bike lanes and implement green programs, but clearly lack the interest and expertise in addressing complex social problems. It began under Walsh.

She made a terrible hire. Good idea poor execution.

Shes made some bad hires, she made some fantastic hires. Shell gets there.

The Affirmative Action task force drug addict dude who got fired- he went to my elementary school. He was the prime example of a bad hire. Great family, and his siblings are perfectly functional adults. His mom and dad are hardworking middle-class people whom I've spent plenty of time in and outside of School. Idk where Georgie went wrong- I guess it happens.

The issue is Wu hired him when he was already racking up charges for erratic behavior that should have been huge red flags. She does a disservice with her lack of vetting.

On the flipside she did a fantastic job with Segun Idowu, Jascha Franklin-Hodg,e and John Borders

I think some of these ideas would be a good start. Criminal justice involvement would take some of the predators out of the area and the ensuing court intervention would motivate them and others with open court cases to treatment through probation or corrections. Many, many people have found recovery through the criminal justice system. Let the police and courts do their jobs. It might also be a good idea to remove all social services except mobile outreach teams who can then refer people to programs in other locations. This would discourage more people from congregating down there to seek services. I'd like to see the city work with Sheriff Thompkins who has made numerous offers to use space at the House of Correction for recovery programs. Regardless of the optics, it's a much better solution than letting this fester on the streets.

Looks like the Long Island bridge reconstruction is clear to start:

Quincy should be holding their leaders accountable for hanging this up for so long. What a ridiculous hill to die on. The damned bridge was there for decades.
