I lived in Rutland County. A small town a good 40 minutes from Rutland itself.

I also don't consider anything outside of the NEK to not be "real" like some people do ... not saying you do or anything, I just feel like that's always the next response. "Oh, Brattleboro isn't real Vermont!" "Oh, Woodstock isn't real Vermont!" "Oh, Middlebury isn't real Vermont!""Oh, ________ isn't real Vermont!" No, it really is.

I guess I was in that "fake" part of the state. You know, the one that didn't exist?

The stats on Burlington crime speak for themselves. It's getting worse too from what I understand.

I have a question about the location in your profile.

How long is "soon" in real Vermont? Because here in fake Vermont, it doesn't seem all that soon.

I'm still on the post that said there is a permanent homeless camp site in South Burlington. Whatever happened to the goal of a neatly ordered society, where ugliness and despair are hidden away? I thought the fake Vermonters, the ones with all the money from the flatlands that turned the state into their personal rural playground, would want such reminders of gritty, modern urbanization out of sight? Everyone complains that the fakers are trying to live in some sort of throwback farming fantasy from the 19th century, and they have spent enough of their money trying to do that. So why would they allow the jarring reality of sad, dirty, crazy people invade their carefully crafted lifestyle dream?

That area in the median of I-189 near Route 7 is known to be a place where homeless people camp.

the transplants are a certain breed -again I'll bring up the "liberal" thing.

most of the "real" vermonters would probably toss them out.
