I agree with you, one place to start is cracking down on employers who knowingly hire illegals or require so little docmumentation any idiot could come up with it. don't give automatic citizenship to babies born here. I know we have to follow the law, but maybe it is time we chnage the law.

As well as cracking down on employers, how about cracking down on families that allow their illegals relatives to live with them. I am sure there are many ways to assist those here illegally to want to return to Mexico..These are just a few ideas.

I agree. I do not have the personal knowledge as you do with someone smuggling illegal immigrants but feel the same. I can't believe she only got 8 months but I guess given our joke of a judicial system that seems right.

I wish there were ways to go after employers who employ illegal immigrants. Of course this problem with illegal immigrants has multiple heads and probably needs to be struck at different areas to help cease the problem.

You're on the right track, but we don't even need to change the law! We need to start APPLYING THE LAW AS IT IS WRITTEN! Consider this from the 14th Amendment:

"All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and the State wherein they reside."

Key words being, "...SUBJECT TO THE JURISDICTION THEREOF..." Technically, anchor babies are not even supposed to receive citizenship. What's been happening is blatant misuse and abuse of the 14th Amendment.

you are right, but like so many laws it has been twisted to fit certain situations.

Since the companies hiring illegals are greedy enough to hire them to save a few bucks I think if they get caught they should be responsible for incarcerating them until trial, legal fees, and deportation. Only seems fair.
