The tea party is nothing more than regular everyday people/voters who don't buy into changing out country and society to communism.
Those were the words of John McCain, himself.

BTW, I live in Bakersfield where it's a conservative stronghold. The majority here gave more donation to Newt Gingrich than President Obama, but very few actually think we are turning into a communist country.

I think he got the ball rolling when he agreed to be interviewed by Piers Morgan. Part 1 was last night. Part 2 is following tonight at 6 pm PST.

I'm looking for a GOP candidate that is rooted in reality instead of rhetoric. He seems the most cool headed in the GOP field.

You of course can believe what you may and deny all responsiblity as would the Tea Partiers had our nation defaulted. But everyone in Congress including members of the GOP knew that it was the Tea Party freshman who were unwilling to budge in order to balance the budget or deal with the debt ceiling at hand. Of course there was no Tea Party deal. That reckless irresponsibility was problem - an unwillingness to deal with other members of Congress in any sort of rational, adult manner. My way or the highway. Its a catchy phrase, but one which doesn't work very well in American politics. That irrational behavior is better suited for dictatorship regimes. American Gov't is by the people and for the people - All People - even those on the other side of the aisle whom you don't agree with. Our nation was not merely founded for some special interest group who insists their brand of America is right and everyone should simply agree with them or suffer the consequences. Rather that's a warped pipe dream that will not nor should not ever occur in a free country such as ours.

You obviously didn't read any of the debt cceiling bills that the GOP submitted and Obama with fellow senate democrats rejected without reading ... but am I surprised ... no! You see it was Obama and the senate democrats who play the "my way or the highway " game ... remember Obama's famous "I WON" quote when he so called "Negotiated" with GOP in his first year? You seemed to be so consumed with the liberal propaganda that you fell for the "BLAME THE REPUBLICANS FOR EVERYTHING WE DO" tactic. If you are truly interested in getting our country back on track ... the way it was when you were growing up in the south bay ... then take a step back from both sides and look at the whole state of our society from 10 miles up ... you might actually come down from the propaganda high and see reality. Both sides use propaganda to push each sides agenda ... but the progressive liberals are attempting a radical change in America and the conservatives just want to go back to the way it was. The radical change is what you need to understand because the way it was you already know. Do you really want this radical change? Know what this change really is before you make that decision.

Yes, but Piers Morgan has an audience of about 12. Nobody watches Morgan let alone CNN anymore.

Nobody watches evening network news anymore from CBS, NBC and ABC ... and you can add CNBC. Why ... because the masses are realizing its nothing but biased propaganda. The networks have shifted to morning and daytime talk shows like The View to disseminate the propaganda to the clueless unemployed.

Donny ... I am curious ... you state over and over and over and over and over (whooops, got stuck in a rut there!) in posts that "the masses" do this and that all along the lines of "realizing" the lies of the democratic socialist pinko commie basta*ds , blah blah blah blah (whooops again!) and people all over America are coming to their senses and no longer support blah blah blah ... rant rant rant ...

And yet I don't read anyone on this forum ever supporting your claims ... surely City Data California Forum is not the last hold out of fools in America? Even the republicans on this forum think your rants are insane ... so where is all this "electorate" that has wised up to the conspiracies of Obama and Jerry Brown and Nancy Pelosi and the rest of the criminal communists trying to steal the beautiful venue of your fabulous American boyhood? Where is your army of loyalists? Why do you appear the lonely voice in a wilderness of heathen socialists here?

Oh wait! I forgot! You are really a democratic plant to make the Tea-Party look like the nut jobs they are. Never mind then! As you were!

Fish for supper. True cod!

So ... did you catch anything or are you just going to tell us fishing tales?

BTW ... you must have been fishing last November and missed that little election where the masses started taking back our country ...

Don't plan a fishing trip November of next year ... the democrats will need all the help they can get ...

The radical change that the progressive liberals are attemping is Health Care for all Americans. I know it sounds like a commie, socialist plot to many conservatives. But so did Social Security when it was first introduced. It illicited the same kind of going to hell in a handbasket outrage and reaction from some on the right. Personally I don't have a problem with people having health insurance on a national level. And having worked for insurance companies in the past I know we are in serious need of health care reform. Neither of those things are bad/evil in and of themselves. Its when a group of people get a hold of an idea and put countless political spins on them that they become an attack on the American way as we know it.

Take a moment to listen to Wendall Potter, former Vice President of Cigna. This might alert you to things in health care which are already changing and not for the better.
