Since you live in Portlandia (Moderator cut: link removed, linking to competitor sites is not allowed144 sunny days a year), too bad you missed the earlier discussion re: some of us PNW "refugees"!

I've been a little bit bored with this winter's unusually sunny, dry, and mild weather here in the San Francisco Bay Area (only getting about 1 day of rain in Jan, Feb, and Mar), especially knowing that the "rainy season" is about to wrap up for 6 months of dry weather anyway. But, it's kept me outside more, not having to worry about making plans that could be canceled. I just realized I don't even know where my umbrella is anymore!!

Anyway, it was about 80 degrees in the inland parts of NorCal yesterday and again today. That does feel pretty nice. But really, no part of California is like Hawaii with year-round warmth. We do have modified, mild seasons. Nights are pretty chilly in winter throughout the state, with 30s and 40s everywhere.

A nice perk of which (here in the Valley of Heart's Delight), is that our 'spring' veggie growing season lasts from March-Mid December.

Heirlooms are forthcoming:

BTW it's 80 degrees here today, was hoping for 70's for a little bit longer.

Highly doubt it. Got replaced by "Silicon Valley", much to the ongoing chagrin of old people around here.

Lemme try it out:

"Fresno: Valley of the Heart's Delight" (we own the central valley after all)

Which is better?

Fresno: Kinda like Texas cause of Clovis

Find yourself in Fresno.

or the Heart's Delight one? I might rotate the 3 for fun.

Today I left our home on my moto, it was cool, sweater and carhartt. 15 miles away in SLO it was hot, too hot for sweater and carhartt. heading back home, it cools again, comfortable.

These local temperature differences are common in California, due both to coastal influences and elevation changes. In the Humid East, this is fairly uncommon.

When one speaks of the weather in CA, it is helpful to note the location as it varies so much from place to place. The advantage to that is that you can choose your weather.

The disadvantage is that the Central Valley empties onto the coast every fair weather Friday night, thousands upon thousands of Central Valleyians.
