Called Ojai's Pink moment, the mountains in the distance take on shades of pink. Traveling to the mountain side you can look out toward the ocean for some spectacular sun sets.
It is gorgeous...taking the boat over to the islands. Just wish it was a bit cheaper.

During the spring when you can hopefully catch some wildflowers. You can contact the Theodore Payne Foundation wildflower hotline either by phone or online to get wildflower sightings throughout SoCal. Even with the drought there are still wildflowers in the desert in March and April. Any time of year is good, even summer if you are prepared for extreme daytime temperatures, i.e. 110F or more.

Sunset Beach in southern California, of course (has recently been annexed by Huntington Beach). I saw my first green flash there.

Isla Vista in Santa Barbara area is a well known sunset spectacle to local students. Many gather on the cliff daily just for this beautiful occurrence.

Agreed about your suggestions but bit awkward suggesting Isla Vista, given the recent events!

True. But we can't let one mentally disturbed person keep us from going to or living in areas just because of a tragic event. Might have been a bit too soon to mention though, I suppose. I apologize if I offended anyone.

I totally understand your comment but sometimes remembering stunningly beautiful things is exactly what we need.
