We can all make one at home that is as good as any we can buy, but that isn't the point. No you can not make one at home that is 100 times better: a slight exageration wouldn't you say?

Judging from the response, it's a timeless topic

Everyone has different tastes and likes when it comes to food and In & Out may not be for everyone. However, I can't think of any other restaurant that is as consistent as I&O when it comes to taste and freshness. Even expensive full service restaurants can be hit and miss at times. Maybe that will start to change now that minimum wage is going up and the food industry will have decent people applying for those jobs. I&O has always paid more which proves my point. Their restaurants are cleaner and so are their friendly employees.

It's a religious experience, literally and figuratively. Just happens to be one with burgers lol.

They pay more, have benefits and are Christian like Chick Fil A. I'm not religious but I can definitely tell you the service at those two is far and above any other fast food and better then most businesses in general

So everything from California is overrated ?

I agree. I like In & Out, their burgers are great, the fries aren't. But IMO Five Guys has the best burgers in town. And their fries are pretty tasty too. There just aren't many of them around. Like so many others, I had to try the newest burger in town, Shake Shack in WeHo. Their burger is fine, but expensive, and not as good as Five Guys or In & Out.
