Ford Transit?
Ford Transit 'Connect'?
Gas? Diesel?

The existing Gas powered Transit Connect is powered by a Focus engine, that is pretty impressive in performance and economy.

If the Diesel is turbo (very likely), it will be good as well.

The larger Transit I have used as a diesel in China for 10+ yrs. Many in AU and NZ, but they are not too dependable (Often Found-On-Road-Dead) so it seemed when there last yr. If it was a broken down van... It was a Transit. (Might be legacy issues / earlier engines, likely from Japan 'discarded' vehicles.)

There's a Dodge Sprinter (older) and a Mercedes Sprinter (newer)...

Hard to say without knowing what vehicle you have in mind.

well... I guess the question could just be... Is a Large Class B capable of 20 MPG. Yes... if diesel (I have seen to 24 mpg), Gas powered (Roadtrek / similar on a large FS Chassis) more likely 13 - 17 mpg. Our VW Rialta (gas) is like a large B (but truly a C) gets 17 -20 mpg unless into a headwind!.

I would expect it occasionally possible to get 20 mpg in a gas powered (Chevy or Ford) Class B.

Diesel powered Class B should have no problem consistently achieving 20mpg+

IIRC, the Sprinter based diesel Class C's get ~ 17mpg
