If the convoy was nothing but a small group of nuts why did Trudeau have to invoke the emergency powers act?
Have you not been keeping up to date with the world wide news and only just learned about all this? Where have you been if you have to ask such a question?
It only started out as a small group of people who, unknown to most of them, were being manipulated by a group of extremists who were planning to use them to overthrow the government. Once the convoy reached Ottawa and occupied the city the small group had swelled into a huge mob of rabid nutcases, extremists, racists, white nationalists and other weirdos who were committing a number of illegal acts, who disrupted, disrespected and terrorized the city and its residents and occupied and blockaded trade routes across the border. By then, thanks to social media, the protest was being supported and financially funded in the millions by foreign interests who would like to see the downfall of Canada, as the organizers planned all along. There is more but to make a longer story short the Emergencies Act had to be enacted to restore law and order.
Now I'll say the same thing to you that I said earlier to MechAndy ..... If you want to know more then start at page one and read this whole thread. Everything you want to know has already been answered and beat to death in this thread and none of it is worth repeating over and over again to people who can't be bothered to read the thread.
The House of Commons is scheduled to vote today night on the Emergencies Act. Will they end it?
Not yet. They'll vote in favour of it and it is due to remain in effect for another 3 weeks. It's just a temporary thing to reinstate law and order, get everyone calmed down and to prevent more of the same problems from cropping up again in other locations. It also allows Canada's government and security forces to investigate and learn more about the ring leaders plans for their coup and to investigate, expose and charge the foreigners who tried to financially support the downfall of Canadian government.
Seems some officers were celebrating their roughing up protestors.

According to the Facebook post by my favourite neighborhood extremist, on March 5 these convoy nutters are planning a people chain along the transcanada, coast to coast.
