Whitney Houston, Superstar of Records, Films, Dies - ABC News
This lady was just that until bad influences got to her. She sang the National Anthem so true to the way it is written that even my son (31) went crazy hearing her and it was because she didn't trill and howl as so many stars do.

I loved that movie "The Bodyguard" especially her part.

Well, at least she's got Jimi, Janice, Bobby and a fully vanished cast of fantastic performers to greet her when she arrives at her last gig.
Her passing was a sad event indeed, as others have said, a waste of talent when talent is such a precious commodity. More so than envy those with
talent like hers, i have adjusted my perception of success to use the finish-line as the gauge. those who make it through the course of the race rather
than drop into the trenches at some turn in the road. Stardom has it's rewards but it also has it's price. You can have all of the lifestyle that you can
handle but if you mishandle your life beyond the point of return, like Whitney, it comes to an end. Whitney is in good company! R.I.P.

Default Another wasted life

Whitney Houston dead at 48, just popped on my screen. While not a "fan" per se I will never forget the National Anthem in 1991 at the Super Bowl, no one has held a candle to that rendition IMO

Another talent gone way too soon. Will they ever learn? Drugs, I would suspect.

Sorry she died. She was a great vocalist but decades of drugs will do that to you. Did it to Elvis, Morrison, Hendrix, Jackson and many others.

Look on TMZ. There is a video of her from just last week with this guy having dinner. Can't believe she is gone but she had such a tumultuous marriage with Bobbi Brown.......all the drugs back then.......lots of demons.
Wouldn't be surprised if it was an overdose.

http://perezhilton.com/ Her last performance was last night singing in Hollywood.

Default This is surprising for her to be dead at 48

Wow, that is shocking news. Whitney Houston. Wonder what in God's name happened? Suicide, perhaps? Or maybe she OD'ed?

I just knew she wasn't on a good road getting involved with that low-class thug Brown. She had it all, then severely downgraded her life when she hooked up with that thug. Shame.
