Near iop connector and rifle range in Mount P. Windy/rainy but not bad. The power went out around midnight and is still out. If the power was on I would probably still be sleeping.

Winds are picking up - I just heard the moan of the wind for the first time. Rain coming in harder also. I think I just heard on the news that the eye is right off the coast now.

Same here with the winds picking up. I'm afraid the beaches will be damaged badly. High water surge was 8.81ft around 1-1:30 this morning but I heard that the water was still up to 8ft at 6 this morning... it hasn't receded for low tide!
Last Oct the king tide was 8.5 and during Hugo it was 12.56.

Ya, peak of low tide right now helping Charleston, still problems but could have been higher if was high tide.

Hilton Head, Tybee Island , Savannah, Beaufort areas were near high tide. Record tide level measured at Fort Pulaski between Tybee Island and Hilton Head this morning.

What the P&C reported about 45 minutes ago is not good at all. The European weather forecast model has made the US's look bad again. Hold on tight, Charleston. Right at this moment I can't say I'm glad we moved there. Hoping for the best. I might have some stories to tell about what we came home to. To everyone who stayed, be careful and good luck.

Seems the same here (I'm in Avondale, West Ashley). I just took a walk while in the eye and it was just a light breeze and for 5-10 minutes; no rain.
