Honestly, considering the amount of folks underwater, already defaulted, or soon to default - who would want to buy in your neighborhood anyway?

I'm sure she'll have no problem meeting people here, but I can understand your fears. Her "friends" that ditched weren't really her friends at all if they did that. Real friends don't see the disability, they just see the person inside. I'd say she's better off without them, time to make some new friends.

I'm not aware of any redistricting going on in Mooresville - hopefully BXRosie will come back and address that for you.
Thanks Love for the compliment in your earlier response. The only redistricting I know of in the MGSD is due to the new schools that were built. The house that the OP is interested in is still within the MGSD.

It is easy to do that anywhere...by simply not worrying about what others think of you to begin with. It is not that hard to do.

Wow that is terrible! Her own friends ditched her because of that? Those are not friends. I am sure you will meet nice people.

Cherry Grove is a pretty subdivision and I'm sure you will love and meet some nice people. People are very friendly up at Lake Norman.

Best of luck to you and your family That's very exciting!

If he's moving into the house that I think he's moving into, there's a really nice bunch of families right down the street, just a few houses down. I was there for a BBQ this past weekend. Plus, he knows where I live. He can always stop on by!

I'm glad you mentioned transplants. When we moved to Pittsburgh many years ago, we were not welcomed. It seemed like everyone there was born and raised there and we never got past the feeling of being outsiders. Don't want that to happen in NC.

My wife found some homes in Huntersville that she likes but I figure why triple my commute if we can get everything we want right in Mooresville. My son is so jazzed up about the "free laptop," it's his only criteria.

I moved to Pittsburgh for one miserable year and you are so right about the way 'outsiders' are treated. You will love Charlotte in comparison, I could not have been happier when we moved here. I live in Ballantyne so I can't help much w/up North unless you're looking for a lakefront condo - West side of 77??? Hey, I can try. I really think you will be happy here, it's one of the most welcoming places I've lived. Good luck!
