It's reason enough why you don't screw around with people driving slow in the left lane. You don't know how they might react to your efforts to control their behavior. That situation could have ended up with someone dying.

Funny thing is they are the ones trying to control others "speeding" behavior, not the other way around.
Both law and common sense says that slower traffic should try to drive on the right lane.
When no traffic, left lane is for passing only or to be used temporarily on 2 lanes freeway to allow off freeway incoming vehicles to the right lane (and move over to the right when done).
So who is out of proper behavior here?

Do you even have to ask?

Proper behavior would have been for both drivers to drive on the road responsibly and do everything they can to avoid an accident. Based on the description of what happened both drivers are at fault at this. The cop was being an ass. This doesn't mean the other driver should have continued to provoke him but that is exactly what he did.

Exactly... not sure why passing someone is a big deal but some people take it as an insult.

Red face Beware of the road rage drivers

This past week while driving home I stopped at an intersection in the right lane. I was going to go ahead and turn right on red once I was sure that no cars were coming . Before I even had a second to look some jerk was on my rear honking his horn.....Did he not know that turning on red or waiting till it turned green was 100% my decision ? Because he disrespected me with the horn I decided not to turn on red but wait till it was green so he had to wait that much longer....Then as soon as I turned he quickly passed me as if he were trying to yet send me another message..so..I then sent him one by giving him the finger. What is funny is that we both got stopped by a train not 1/4 mile away and I ended up right beside this moron...He needs to be glad Im not a hothead or I could have done more than just give him the well deserved finger.. I did sorta pound my fist into my other hand so he could see even though I think he was scared to even look my way.....Beware there are people out there who dont know the traffic laws and disrespect people by blowing their horns when the people they are blowing at have done nothing wrong...be on guard and be safe.. thanks

Be glad you don't live in So Florida. You get honked if you do, and honked if you don't. And giving a middle finger would likely get you killed.
