But already we have QT, 7-11, Circle K, Race Trac/Raceway, Spinx, and other independent operators. And I think the closest Sheetz is Mooresville or Statesville, if I remember correctly. But it does seem that Wawa is concentrating first on the I-95 corridor and the coastal region.
I95 is their priority. So far they have announced intentions that include Wilmington. They've broken ground at Kill Devil Hills and in Alabama, near Mobile.
Royal Farms is known for very good fried chicken and potato wedges and I think they may be expanding from Tidewater Virginia into the NC coastal regions.
I forgot NE also has Turkey Hill which I'd put above Royal Farm AND Cumberland Farms, because they have big tea and more fresh selection
A bit of a drive from Concord, but if you are ever heading into Mooresville on 115 from Davidson, the Shop n Save which looks like a little roadside country/convenience store has a pretty good meat market and butcher.
There's also the New York Butcher in Cornelius. Try the Stock Market in Concord.
Do New York butchers go to special butchering schools? Do they have advance butchering degrees? Do they go to the same school as New York bagel and pizza makers?

Haha. It's an assembly line spitting out NY butchers. It's an apparent chain.

Wawa is opening In Kill Devil Hills on May 16th. They have stores under construction to open later this year. They have announced that at least 80 stores will open in North Carolina in the next 10 years. Sheetz is opening In the mountains.
One or both will come to Charlotte.

Sheetz is already near Statesville, Mooresville, and Hickory. They are on the fringes of the Charlotte market and have plans to expand to Hendersonville and Asheville. Curious if Wawa will venture east from the coastal regions and the I-95 corridor.
