Just because you don't get it, doesn't mean it's not a joke.

Are there any/many jewish temples around the Charlotte area? My husband is catholic and I am jewish and we are raising our children with both religions. Is there a jewish population in the Charlotte area? Are there certain areas where it is more prevelant? I am just asking because we are considering moving to the area. Just asking! Thanks for the help!

There's a sizeable synagogue around Providence and Fairview Roads which brings in Jewish people from throughout the region. (This is also conveniently near st. gabriel Catholic Church). I'm not sure where there are concentrations of Jewish people, but I would guess close to the synagogue would be the best place to start.

As far as I know, that's the only jewish congregation in town except for a small orthodox community and a "jews for jesus" temple in extreme south Charlotte.

There are actually two synagogues at that location - One conservative and one reform. They are in "Shalom Park" - a sizable complex which also includes a JCC. There is definitely a vibrant Jewish community here - I believe many do live near Shalom Park.

If you are looking at either south Charlotte or the Fort Mill area, there are two temples here as well. Temple Kol Ami meets at the Unity Presbyterian Church in Fort Mill. They haven't decided to be reform or conservative, kind of catch all. There is a second temple though that has decided to break off and go the reform route, Temple Solel is just getting started. You can find info for both on facebook.
