What score is too low? When I think to check, anything less than an A is too low, but maybe I should raise my standards.

Anything lower than a raw 93 is a no go for me. I almost always look up the inspection online to find out what the exact violations are, though. PR got lots of violations for food not being kept at proper temps.

I can forgive stuff like messed up door hinges, employees not labeling their drinks, etc. But stuff about food temp is crucial.

An A is 88-100 in SC, I like the fact that NC displays the actual score, if a place was displaying 88 I do not think I would want to eat there.

I heard that they got rid of the education credit so the score is a true score.

If it's a fancy place I'd say higher standards but I try to avoid anything less than 95 anywhere. Of course I don't check the fancy places before going anyway. I guess I should.

Mecklenburg County, NC - Digital Health Department if you want to check ahead of time.

You're right. What I posted about PW was from before the change. You can see their sanitation record here: Mecklenburg County, NC - Digital Health Department

Books-a-Million is closing the Cotswold store. Hard times for booksellers these days.

Fewer people read. Of those that do, online and e-readers are the media choice for many. When I read a novel for pleasure, I prefer paperbacks. But for most everything else I read online. Plus, bookstores got away with charging exorbitant prices for a long time. In many ways it has finally caught up with them.

Swiss Farms is closing/has closed. They gave it a year. I guess it didn't work out. BOGO on everything now, but I'm not sure if they will be open again. They were closed when I went by earlier, and their website is gone.
