As stated by J.D. Power & Associates, it's just a customer satisfaction survey, nothing more. They do not inspect anyone's home or claim the customers are qualified to make home construction judgments on a technical level.

Wow, this was an old post- but thanks! We bought a Centex home this past weekend. It's not perfect, but it will work for us and we are happy with it for now.

I've heard that EastWood Homes is quite good. They have a community off 160 when you are heading Fort Mill.

They have two off 160 Coventry & Falcon Ridge.

I had been told about Coventry & phoned ended up with the sales person for Falcon Ridge, went to visit and ended up buying M/I in Falcon Ridge.

Oh and the sales person now works for M/I

Arrow Good Luck

Shea homes won 2007 builder of the year. I only see one community around that price point.

I have a centex home and I am satisified.

Here is a list of Charlotte builders

We built a Standard Pacific home. We don't have any complaint and really like it. I posted a review here.

I believe they have a community in Rock Hill, SC that offer homes in the $160K range.
