Yeah, as long as there's no violence it's cool. Discriminatory, bigoted laws are A-OK.

It's facist of the city to make a decision like this.

Let the people themselves vote with their wallet.

I mean, imagine some town not allowing a guy to open a mcdonalds franchise there because he's gay?

The key point here is I don't want some alderman essentially making what should be my own personal decision.

Move!

A city like Chicago is known for its bigotry. Look around at the segregation. They have the nerve to tell a company that will probably do well in the area they aren't wanted?

If you think for one minute that everyone is going to support everything you support, you are sadly mistaken. Chick fil a I think does quite well on state and Chicago. There are many restaurants who practice discrimination that do business in Chicago who I choose not to support. Why don't we demand the mayor run them out of the city. It will never happen!

Why? We don't need more mod censorship.

Well, first, segregation # bigotry. And your reasoning is equivalent to the idea that we should not go after emerging gangs because there are other hate groups that have been here for a while.

The "facist" decision they're making is to let existing the zoning stay in place. They are taking no actions to block them, they just aren't changing the zoning to accommodate them. That's far from being "facist".

I say let them pay to get approval, pay to build it, and pay tax to be there. If no one goes there, so be it, but at least we could get some of their money, since that's truly 'the Chicago way.'
