Maybe some can help me as this is my first time on unemployment and getting through to the 800 number has been impossible. My Weekly benefit amount was established as $418. I recieved $355 (minus taxes) deposited into my account. My question is am I only going to receive $355 every 2 weeks, or will I receive $710 ($355x2) every 2 weeks. I am confused because I thought it would be the $710 every 2 weeks but for some reason my first payments was only $355 so I am wondering what happened.

They take a bit out of the first check for taxes I believe. You should get more on subsequent checks.

You don't get paid for the 1st week of unemployment.
