Please Help! Chicago & Ogden Neighborhood Info (transfer, bus)

Hello!

I am from the suburbs but need to move to the city for a new job opportunity. I found a great listing for a place at Chicago Ave and Ogden that I love. I want to make sure that the neighborhood is good enough for me (young female) to walk around and run errands. I know the neighborhood west of this area is not great and the area north of here is good but can't really figure out if this are is good or not. Any help would be appreciated

This is a great intersection -- perfectly safe to walk around and run errands. Some may refer to this area as "River West." There's also great access to bus lines and the L around here. Even west of this neighborhood, East Village, is fine. At this intersection, you'd be in close proximity of the Loop, River North, Wicker Park and East Village. Of course, just be aware of your surroundings when walking especially at night, but I wouldn't worry much around here. There's a lot of foot traffic during most times of the day because of people transferring public transportation.
