A house in my neighborhood just sold for $1,200,000. That's a $600,000 increase from the last time it sold.

I actually know a family who just moved to Chicago. Nice couple, planning on having a baby. Good with statistics, too. Moved from DC.

I have a neighbor that makes millions and moved here from Kansas. He lives about five houses away from me.

My next door neighbor moved here from DC too. She absolutely loves it here.

Because it's in the middle of the Midwest. The coasts have less available land and the big cities are all close to each other.

Pretty much. Also Chicago can always build out unlike San Francisco that is on a penisula or NYC that is on an island. Also add in relatively high property tax which normally lowers property value and you have a city that is relatively cheap when compared to the bigger cities on the coasts.
