baby_nation. I apologize to you if I offended you. I re-read my original post. I did not write it to sound like I was providing a manual of what you already do NO do (given that I do not even know you), but rather my commentary on what you, and ALL of us, can do as a part of our daily routine, towards achieving/maintaining success.

I am a father of 3. I have 25 years in social work. I have 11 years working in the court and jail system. I only was trying to be encouraging.

Again, I apologize. And I wish you ultimate success.

No need to apologize. It's all a big misunderstanding. I appreciate your input and I agree these are things all of us should do to achieve our goals.

baby_nation. Thank you.

I do wish you the best. I like to read books like The Chicago 77 and NFT: Not For Tourists- Chicago, to learn about the neighborhoods.

I'm fortunate, as a Milwaukeean, that I can make quick drives down to then really learn about these neighborhoods via car, Ltrain, or bicycle.

What is New Lake? I've never heard of it. Could that be Lakeshore East? New City?

Yes, I'm excited for anyone moving to Chicago. I'd like to be there, myself!!!

You can definitely get something in Lincoln Park or Lake View with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom for under $2k/month. It'll probably be vintage without significant updates, and it might have an undesirable feature like train noise. However, you can definitely find something.

I don't think MJ meant to be rude but I can see how you would have taken it that way. We are considering leaving Illinois and I agree. It's very stressful.
