I've lived in Chicago 13 years now and so far I've never met any Mafia people, at least none where I could readily tell.

Maybe I need to get out more.

If you see any full-blooded Italian looking men who are dressed to the nines with their hair slicked back driving expensive luxury cars then there is a good chance that they have ties to the family. You can usually tell regular Italians from Italians who have a lot of money based on how they are dressed and the cars they drive. It doesn't take rocket science.

Why would you ever feel like you need to be fearful of the mob? Leave them alone and they'll leave you alone.

A word of advice, if a big Italian or Russian guy comes up to you and offers to sell you some 'protection,' I recommend you take him up on his offer.

The mob/mafia life in Chicago is outdated and the ones that are still around are retired and old. Chicago is not a mafia city anymore. In Chicago, you have to worry about street gangs in certain neighborhoods. You are more likely to meet a gang member in the Chicago area, than someone in the Italian or Russian Mafia. I do know there is a underground Chinese mafia/gang in Chinatown, but your chances of ever meeting one is rare.

thats a bit of a stretch but just to feel better about it may wana see a counciler? just to do a reality check?
of course sometimes the difference between justified suspicion and unreasonable suspicion can be very small.

He knows too much.

For the members of my "family" who are reading this, we need to "remove" this poster from our "Christmas card list" and "change his address" by "stuffing his body in the trunk of a Buick."
