See to know Jesus is that we live by faith and if we ask Jesus a direct question , then He would not give a direct answer, because the devil would walk all over the person if they questioned God . But God would would quicken His response so they would have a Word to believe and faith to receive...... So God would not likely tell a person directly to get saved from Hell...... In Deuteronomy 30: 19... The Lord says ``I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you LIFE and DEATH, blessing and curses, therefore choose life, that both you and your seed may live.``........... See the Lord gives us a Word for our faith and tells us the most preferred answer....
What are you arguing? That hell exists? Or that we save ourselves?
I am arguing that there is not one place in the Bible beginning from Genesis to Revelation that it is ever said that mankind are to save themselves from hell.
I am not arguing that we save ourselves.
I am arguing that we are not saved from a mythological hell. Rather, we are saved by God for the work He has prepared for us to do in the oncoming eons/ages.
Have you Ever Noticed no where in the Bible does it say: Save yourselves from hell?
Not one person starting in Genesis going all the way to Revelation ever tells anyone to save themselves from hell.
In the Gospels it is always: Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
Yes, that and the fact that Jesus was manifest to SAVE us from SIN. Sin leads to death and hell - but not the mythical hell that is as popular in people's minds as Santa Claus.
The salvation of our souls is PRESENT in the saving of our minds from despair and our will from turning against righteousness. We are saved to do good works here in this world, not so that we can "go to heaven" when we die. If you have not got a taste of heaven here and now - you're on the wrong track.
OP Are you trying this again? Talk about a broken record, give it up already!!!!?????
Mt 25:45 "He will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’Mt 25:46 "Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."
Mt 23:33 "You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?
Mk 9:45 And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than to have two feet and be thrown into hell.
Mk 9:47 And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell,
Lk 12:5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.
Lk 16:23 In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side
Proverbs 15:24 The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.
Some translations do seem to indicate this. However, traditional teaching seems to indicate that we are to save ourselves from ever going to hell because once you are there, there is no hope for escape.
Yet this verse seems to indicate that you can go there and depart from it. You cannot depart from a place you are not in.
