Protestants, Anglicans and Catholics have the same God. Do they also have the same God as Jehova's Witness? I don't mean in theory, but in real life.
Thanks
Yes, they do. They may conceive Him differently, but in the end, their conceptions of Him are entirely independent of who He actually is. Using prayer as an example... "in real life," it doesn't matter whether it's a Protestant, a Catholic, a Jehovah's Witness, a Mormon, a Jew or a Muslim who's doing the praying. The same Being hears and answers all of their prayers.
Unless one completely disregards the Bible and simply 'wings it on their own', Jesus Christ is the only way provided by God. For example:
Jn 14:6 - "I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father, but, by me" ....and many others.
For those who choose to ignore Jesus Christ and God's Word ...and follow whatever path any 'religion' dictates ; or simply define their own 'truth standard', then, of course, God can be whomever one declares Him to be.
However, 'denominations' and 'religions' are of men - not God and God is not 'bound' by them. God has set His eternal plan in motion and chosen to reveal it to mankind.
The church decided which scriptures were inspired. Is it the same with Jewish scriptures, that the religious authorities decided which scriptures were inspired by God, and do the Christians and the Jews agree on that the scriptures comes from the same God?

Yes and no. The JW's worship the God of the Old Testament. The trouble is, God incarnated Himself as a man in the New Testament. God also exists as the Holy Spirit. The JW's deny that God is the Holy Spirit or that God incarnated Himself. So they don't deny God completely, but they deny the other two personages of God, so they kind of believe in only 1/3 of God, which makes their God incomplete. Mormons are similar. Catholics and Protestants believe in the fullness of God, in the Trinity. These difference are more "in theory". In "real life", JW's reject the divinity of Jesus, and therefore do not receive the graces that belief in Jesus generates. For instance, they don't call upon the Holy Name of Jesus when they are troubled. They don't call upon Jesus even when rebuking demons, which is very ineffective. Demons are afraid of Jesus. They don't seem to fear "Jehovah" all that much, I have observed from watching my JW friends. JW's seem inordinately afraid of demons, and imagine (real or not) that they are constantly under attack. Well, if you never call on Jesus, you will never get rid of demonic activity. Jesus is the answer.

I agree. There is but one God. And a seeming myriad of ways in which people conceive Him and worship Him.

No. Historically, the Christian church has held that anyone that believes Jesus is not God is a heretic and they do not believe in the same God. JW's teach that Jesus is a created being, and is not God.
Whether or not you believe one side or the other is correct, they do not agree upon who God is. They have different Gods.
