Shirina - I mean even when you go to gender surgery you have to go thru counseling and the doctor has to determine whether you should get this or not, right?
Correct. It's a very lengthy, involved process. Patients meet with not only surgeons but psychiatrists to determine their suitability for gender reassignment surgery. The process can take years.
You just said cosmetic surgery is a sin... you should have stopped there.
God doesn't like cross-dressing...
Deuteronomy 22:5 - "A woman shall not wear man's clothing, nor shall a man put on a woman's clothing; for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD your God.
I don't think He would be pleased with a sex change.
As a 'man' thinketh, so is he.... Is sin transferred to the next person after receiving another's heart after the transplant? Vice/versa? Ponder on this.... you'll then have your answers.
The real test is ....can you still love Aunty Sue after she becomes Uncle Joe? Or, your son after he becomes your daughter? Your brother that becomes your sister? Can you still LOVE? Don't know about you, but I choose to love... (the rest..is between you and your God).

Well, then, if a human being has to judge whether or not a person is right for the surgery, then why get mad at God or Christians who are doing the same thing when voicing their views/Scriptures.

Because the people doing the assessing care first and foremost for the well-being - psychologically, emotionally and physically - of the person considering the procedure.
"God" and his minions care solely about what primitive Bronze Age channelers believed thousands of years ago.

God is God. I don't lump him in with human beings and I don't get mad at God so I can't answer that part.
Christians, or anyone else, who proclaim it to be a sin usually lack two things: 1) Any knowledge about this surgery and why it is done 2) Compassion for the people who have this surgery. If people get mad at them it's usually because they're wallowing in ignorance and have the gall to proclaim, "That's a sin!" while being plenty sinful themselves.

Why does knowledge of the surgery matter? All that should matter is what the word of God says. At this point, you would be trying to rationalize why it's not sin, which is presumptuous at best. That's not really a healthy way to analyze if something is sinful or not. The big question is, how does this fit in with God's will for your life? If you are a believer that God has created you with a purpose, then wouldn't the gender that you have been born with, go hand in hand with that identity?
We cannot begin to even talk about God if we are not talking about our identity in Christ. Our purpose is fulfilled by understanding what we have been brought here to do. If God birthed you to be a man or a woman, can we honestly say that God's will is for you to change that. Let me put this in even better context, if this is truly Godly, then what did people do prior to this surgery even being available? Does that mean that there were people who desired a sex change could not fulfill their purpose since the surgery wasn't available. Let's call it what it is, the decision to have the surgery has nothing to do with God.
Let's call it what it is, the decision to have the surgery has nothing to do with God.
Then that would also imply it could not be a sin.
