You may be correct but who is to say, here and now what that reality is.
They did an experiment on 2 groups of people. Both groups got the answers right but one group was told they were getting the wrong answers. One group got rewarded the other getting more frustrated for being punished for answering right but getting punished anyway so they started to attribute the results on the supernatural or the unexplained.
Probably our minds way of making sense out of confusion.

I'm saying...they couldn't come up with a rational answer as to why they were being told they were wrong, even though they were right so they said..well, must be God's will then or God works in mysterious ways or must be supernatural what is going on. The mind doesn't like being confused so it invents something (religion maybe?) to help make sense of it all.
I am Christian and no, I do not believe that because two people who love one another and want to express a commitment and are finally being allowed to, means the end times are coming.
Love IS NOT the currency of salvation according to the Bible - according to God.

Forgiveness is based upon the death of Christ upon the cross - upon His blood - NOT greetings exchanged on Valentine's Day.
Christians are called to die to self - to one's passions and habits and destructive tendencies - and to be a daily living sacrifice to God.
One may gain peace with the world by means of worldly love, but one canNOT gain peace with God that way. That way lies sin and death and spiritual destruction called the Second Death.
Bear in mind also that worldly approval is fickle.
People are gullible and nothing if not utterly changeable. Yesterday a man's love for another was considered vile and disgusting. Today it is allowed. Who knows but that tomorrow may bring a reversal and the world may once again deny love altogether.(*) Only the saving blood of God remains unchangeable.
There are many who falsely call themselves Christian.
Germans called themselves Christian in the 1930's and 1940's even as they murdered millions of people throughout Europe who did not bow to the swastika flag. Russians called themselves Christian even as they murdered & imprisoned anyone who didn't bow to their red Hammer & Sickle flag. Americans called themselves Christians in the 1960's & 1970's even as they murdered millions of Vietnamese who did not bow to the flag of stars and stripes. To this day we kill in the name of our flag and government, but these acts of cruelty and injustice do not make us or any nation - Christian. Neither do expressions of love make one Christian.
Only the blood of Christ can save and only if repentance precedes it. Peace with God comes no other way.

When you mention ' does Not look like' the end is near 'sounds to me like a 'rosy' world picture is being painted for us.
This is in harmony with 1st Thess. 5:2-3 because when 'they' (Powers that be) will be saying, "Peace and Security..." that is the ' final signal ', so to speak, before the outbreak of the coming great tribulation of Rev. 7:14,9.
Well, thats true, everyone knows when the 'powers that be' tell people everything is fine, everything is good and under control....THAT is the time to start running for the hills!
But even if this happened, that would still be alot of people thinking the end is near any minute now...Bible tells us when the day comes, it will NOT be like this though. ( Its all pretty confusing to me), I dont think there will ever be a time period where LOTS of people are NOT thinking 'the end is near'...so Im not sure what to make of that.

First of all, in Scripture there is No capital letter "A" for any anti-Christ.
Since one can loose their salvation according to Jesus at Matthew 24:13, then there is more than love and reconciliation.
The 'executional words' from Jesus' mouth will rid the Earth of wickedness - Isaiah 11:3-4; Rev. 19:14-16.
Those ruining Earth ( literal and moral ) will be brought to ruin - Revelation 11:18 B; Jeremiah 25:31-33.
