Makes you wonder why some people can be good for goodness sake, while others need to have a god watching over them and threats of burning eternally in hell?

However, people love the darkness. Why do you think people do what they do?

If you let it, the light drives out the darkness, and the desire to do evil dies.
So, you think that all non-Christians desire to do evil and Christians don't?

For the same reason Christians do when they sin.

I really have to question such a broad brush suite of positive attributes to a Christian outlook.
Jimmie is not talking in general , he is talking as an individual, one-to-one with the Lord a person who wants a relationship with the Lord as this individual has had a change of heart and true repentance where sin is put away and guidance is fixed on God. Sure there are land mines, temptations if you want to call them that a believer has to overcome or ignore, walk around as one is now convicted by the Holy Spirit. Once this is accomplished one is secure in their walk with the Lord, not to say there won't be troubles down the road but it sure is a much happier and brighter future walking with the Lord.

Yes it was, unless when you said "why do you think people do what they do" you was meaning Christians too.

Sure:

I said nothing about "all non-christians"

I said nothing about "all Christians.

When I was lost I used to look forwards to weekends, which were filled with sinful acts, thoughts and desires. After I met Christ, my desire for those things died. It didn't make me 100% sinless, but the desire for habitually sinful lifestyle died.
