Christianity isn't offering anything that isn't available to everyone, regardless of their religious affiliation or lack thereof: it's called a conscience. Everyone has one and Christians and non-Christians alike pay attention to it at varying levels.
Makes you wonder why some people can be good for goodness sake, while others need to have a god watching over them and threats of burning eternally in hell?
I won't quibble about the first two, albeit their questionable (IMO) value to the average human, but the last three? Really? Given the documented number of Christians in the U.S. alone, and the prevalence of mental illness, poverty and random and domestic violence in the general population... I really have to question such a broad brush suite of positive attributes to a Christian outlook.
Jimmie is not talking in general , he is talking as an individual, one-to-one with the Lord a person who wants a relationship with the Lord as this individual has had a change of heart and true repentance where sin is put away and guidance is fixed on God. Sure there are land mines, temptations if you want to call them that a believer has to overcome or ignore, walk around as one is now convicted by the Holy Spirit. Once this is accomplished one is secure in their walk with the Lord, not to say there won't be troubles down the road but it sure is a much happier and brighter future walking with the Lord.
When I was lost I used to look forwards to weekends, which were filled with sinful acts, thoughts and desires. After I met Christ, my desire for those things died. It didn't make me 100% sinless, but the desire for habitually sinful lifestyle died.
