The OP said "church" which could be one of many based on the popular use of the word. So I would still have to know which one in order to answer the question. To imply the sin of one is upon all is just foolish and kind of like saying all people of one color are lazy.
Try again. "Church" refers to the body of believers, not to particular denominations. Look into the different uses of the term.

So you are saying that the RCC is guilty of what Westboro Baptist does? You cannot blame everyone who claims to follow Jesus with the sins of one or two churches. You are just wrong to do so.
This is the logic of bigots and how they stereotype all people in a group based on what some do.

There is an anti-Christian campaign going on here. Their goal is to associate Christians in general with negative things. The other day they said 30% of Christians are bad, which boils down to about 660 million people, and they mentioned the torturing of gays as an example of things those 'dark Christians' engage in.

Now why would those that call themselves Christians on this forum that reject your beliefs and the hateful beliefs of the church associate Christians with negative things?. It is with bible fundamentalism that those who call themselves Christians on this forum are taking issue. You cannot hide behind your bible too, you believe all gays that have not repented from being gay will be tortured with eternal torment. You are not fooling anyone on here. If you do not believe gays will not be tortured with eternal torment then say so.

I can see that. Only an absolute idiot would deny it. That is what bigots do though.
2 - Only by accepting Christ can someone be "saved."
3 - Everyone born is deserving of hell.
4 -Atheists hate god.
5 - Heaven is reserved for (the right kind of) Christians.
6- God was justified in tormenting Abraham, slaughtering babies and wiping out life on the planet because he didn't like what he himself created.
7 - Evolution is wrong.
That'll do for starters.
Challenging specific points about macro-evolution is "hateful"? The word hate certainly gets thrown around a lot today. Indeed language changes over time. Disagree = hate?

No, HamFan, that is exactly what I am NOT saying. There is a great variety withoin what is called "Christianity," or "The Church" and almost no generalization applies. In fact I have been talking about fundamentalists who hide behind the name "Christian" while fully aware that the criticisms levelled at them are only applicable to their particular views.

Hateful and hate are two different concepts, related but not the same. check it out.
