It is encouraging to we at least have some remnants left in society that will take a firm stand against immorality and not yield to social pressures. I applaud the Arkansas Catholic schools for their policy which is now getting some heat:
Quote:
The anti-LGBT addendum bars students from advocating, celebrating or expressing same-sex attraction "in such a way as to cause confusion or distraction in the context of Catholic school classes, activities, or events." It also states that students "are expected to conduct themselves at school in a manner consistent with their biological sex," including when it comes to how they dress, which restrooms and pronouns they use, and how they are referred to in official school documents.
"If the student's expression of gender, sexual identity, or sexuality should mislead others, or cause scandal, or have the potential to cause scandal, then the matter will first be discussed with the student and his/her parents," the addendum states. "If the issue is not resolved to the satisfaction of the school, whose primary goal must always be to uphold Catholic truths and principles, then the student may be dismissed."
A Catholic school has every right to set their policy and criteria for student behavior. You are in a religious environment with a faith that believes homosexuality is a sin. So you should expect to behave according to that faith. They want to keep perversion out of their schools and it would be the same with any other kind of sinful behavior. If the community doesn't like it then they should start their own gay friendly Catholic school.
Sadly, I'm sure this story won't go away until religious freedom is taken down yet again.

Anyone else see the irony? Catholic schools have been known to harbor gay clergy, and men of the cloth pedophiles, yet they enact an anti-gay policy for their students.

jeffbase, it is the general society that is taking an ever firmer stand against the immorality of discrimination based on ignorance. You have missed that point entirely.
