Yes, Vf6, if a person is looking at the Bible with what I call the Lower Ego Self, the egoic mind...
the worldly mind...only logic, intellectualizing it...it is a mess of a book.

Without getting into lingo others don't understand...I will say if you do not read it with an open heart...it is like a dead book.

I have also seen it as a love letter...an epic story filled with love and adventures...pain and triumph.

BUT, there still are savage stories told that are just not true, blaming my loving
Father God for murders and such.
I filter them out as made up interpretations of events from primitive minds...oh well.

But I could list such Truths and Beauty...one sentence from it can fill me for a whole day....
many sentences have changed the direction at different times of my entire life.

BUT when someone says it is inerrant...a book that accuses my Father of atrocities or jealousy
and wrath ...and punishing souls in hell ...
that is when I stand up and say, No.
To me this is not about Psalm 46 and Shakespeare; that was to make a point.

To clarify my perspective, again.

Yup, and NObuddy has any trouble understanding it, right? That's why such a powerful God is able to keep his church without division.

Did anybody ever think to ask when God promised such a book, or whether another way was indicated?

Of course, I never asked because 1000s of years apart
and 1000s of miles away there were many other scriptures available telling of God's eternal love...and how to get Home.

God's power is not the issue here.

...and clever name...'spin'...I see that now.
I don't even hate you...or the dog next door that barks too much.... oh, yeah...and don't have a doctrine! Ha!
No more clever than yours ... 'burn' .... I see that now. I don't even hate you...

If you love doctrine then you'd accept the doctrine Jesus taught, instead it is you you continue to shoot yourself in the foot with
"there still are savage stories told that are just not true,"
DOCTRINE: "Your word is truth" ~ Jesus
DOCTRINE:"All Scripture is God-breathed"
BUT when someone says it is inerrant...a book that accuses my Father of atrocities or jealousy and wrath ...
DOCTRINE: "God's wrath remains" ~ Jesus
DOCTRINE: "I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God," ~ God
and punishing souls in hell ...
DOCTRINE: “Then he [Jesus] will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you
who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels....
Then they will go away to eternal punishment, ... " ~ Jesus
that is when I stand up and say, No.
CONCLUSION on DOCTRINES : kinda showed your hand

DOCTRINE: “Whoever is not with me is against me,"
~ Jesus

I hope you can see past my clever name now ... I'm not against Jesus.

Doctrines such as this are for rebellious man, they are not for those who walk with God.

Why is it important to some that others believe, along with them, that God is wrathful,
jealous, murderous and punishing?
Especially when the others have experienced only His Love and
protection and guidance in their lives? (And often Glory.)
What kind of spin could be placed on that.

"burn'...never thought of that ...I have many times here talked of the burn
I carry around in my chest. Good catch.

Oh, if it only were inerrant...how nice that would be.
And I'm not some Bible hater, either...it's just, that's the way it is...men and their edits.

One only has to see how men in power changed it by going to Psalm 46, KJV only.
Count down 46 words, then count up 46 words coming to shakes and spear...
Our good ole King James' homage to W. Shakespeare who was 46.

And no need to make me out as some villain...or a scholar either that can prove all
the changes...there are books galore about shifty reasons why 'those in power'
deleted some things.
And I'm not happy about it.
Doesn't mean I'm attacking those that love it...I mainly disagree with some
interpretations some have, that's all.

And if you get angry at me...sorry...I am unemotional about this...it would be nice if it were
never tampered with!
The KJ is not the best version to bet the home place on when it comes to translations. As a better understanding of Greek and Hebrew became available, the obvious errors in it were corrected in other versions, including the new King James.
