LOL. Either it is true that God is not holding the sin of the world against them, as Paul said, or it's not true. Paul didn't say that if people were not "in Christ" God changed his mind and was holding their sin against them after all, no matter how much you wish he had said it.

This thread is further evidence (as if any was needed) that all Christians cherry-pick the bible. Fundies believe the vengeful passages. Liberals look for the love.

Hence the bible being the preferred flavour of 33,000+ sects and sub-sects. It's got something for everybody.

Quoting John 3 16 and Hebrews 9 27, and throwing a couple of mistranslated hell scriptures, and a literal belief in the lake of fire for good measure is not refuting anything. Reading Revelation with a mind set that all of it is literal is nothing short of being void of understanding when it comes to the scriptures.

Absolutely (and that includes this former Christian who still finds plenty of good stuff there). I don't know why some people insist that everyone else has to eat the spoiled cherries just because they do.

In Christ is being awake to where you are and he is.

Gal. 3

26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to promise. -the Apostle Paul

It also has lots of catchy sayings that have become part of the English lexicon in some form and that non-religious people use without realizing their origin.

I once heard a guy in a meeting say "what we'll have to do is cut the baby in half". Some people looked startled at the expression, but I knew what he meant cuz I went to Sunday School.

And again, nothing refuting that God isn't holding the sins of the world against them. But, you keep trying to find something that contradicts what Paul wrote in your inerrant bible, okay?

Are you saying no other scriptures refute Universalism or do you just not believe those passages or something else? I have shown you what I believe that passage means and backed it up with other passages on the same subject.
