Wouldn’t or shouldn’t it be dependant on if the country is doing the right thing though?
There were a lot in Germany who were standing up for their country but if the leadership is corrupt and are obviously doing things that are not right, it’s not really good to stand with them

My love for my country hasn’t wavered, at least not yet.
Obviously she claims to be a Christian. Her comment was not meant to be taken as you have taken it.
She bows to God as all Christians will do, but the American flag is a different type of bowing, you should know that.
She is referring to respect for what our country stands for, our motte, "In God We Trust."
Any Christian will easily recognize this!
You are generalizing Christians. I am a born again Christian and I would NEVER bow down to any thing but my God and my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. With that said, as a law abiding Christian, I wouldn't try to overthrow the government just because I disagree with the election. As an African-American male, I'm not going to go out and riot just because I'm upset with the judicial system. A true Christian understands that as well.

Hmmm...I don't know. You might be right, but maybe you're not.
I think most people would say they pledge allegiance to the flag. Not "bow to the flag". To bow to the flag would imply submission. And maybe that IS what she meant. Or maybe not.
I had to gently tell her that I only bow down to my God and my LORD and Savior simply because that's a form of idolatry.
It's disturbing to me that people are putting their country, political views, and even their own religion over God or at least putting them on the same level as God.
What do you think about people bowing down to the American Flag?
They always have. I went to a church once where the pastor asked everyone to stand and say the Pledge of Allegiance. I declined. I no longer go there.
That said, it's more than just conservatives doing it. Liberals also bow to the idea of what they want our nation to be, and push God out of it.

But let's remember, Jesus told the Herodians and Pharisees (who were trying to trap him) to render unto Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's. So yeah...we pay our taxes, and we work within the framework of our gov.
We are also told to pray for our leaders. Even the ones we didn't vote for.

I get your point. But what makes America great is we can agree to disagree. What I'm not liking is when there's a group of people who want you (us)to think, behave, and believe in a particular way eliminating any individual freedom of thinking. When you do, you are labeled a traitor unpatriotic, and enemy of the cause etc and the list goes on and on. To me that's thuggish mentality. It's no different than being in a gang.
