I mean, he made it clear many times that he wasn't God..

Jesus said -"Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone" (Luke 18:19)

"Only God knows when Judgment Day will be, I don't know myself" (Mark 13:32)

"I say nothing of my own accord, i only say what my father tells me to say.." (John 12:49)

"I am going to my Father and your Father, my God and your God" (John 20:17)

Paul said "There is one mediator between God and men,- the man Jesus Christ" (1 Tim 2:5)

And God himself said - "This is my beloved son, listen to him" (Matt 17:5)

Jesus regularly prayed to God, yet if he was God why would he pray to himself?

He spelt out who he was to the High Priest-

I think it is more about randomly picking verses from various books and not understanding what they relate to

The cut and paste method

Guys, check your monitor display settings, you must have missed the bunch of Jesus quotes in my opening post where he says he's not God, or don't you believe him? Careful, the naughty step...

Here's another bit that might interest you-
Jesus asked his disciples- “Who do you say I am?”
Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven" (Matt 16:13-17)

See, if Simon had been wrong Jesus would have said "Wrong answer, try again".

PS- this is meant purely as a fun discussion thread, I'm not out to stir up controversy, and anyway I don't think Jesus would mind if people think he is or isn't God..

Yes, Jesus said "Father you loved me before the creation of the world" which indicates he was always part and parcel of God, sharing the same Holy Spirit, but not necessarily God himself..

Aargh sorry, i should have titled this thread "Was Jesus God", I just tried to change it to that but the edit button seems to have disappeared, so perhaps a mod could change it for me, bless his little cotton socks?

That might allude to Torah, which we believe was in heaven before the creation of the world...
