God's hate is simply showing preference. God preferred Jacob over Esau. God does not prefer that we sin. That is why He will transform the sinner through Christ (Romans 5:18-19).
This word for "hate", deerdog, is "sane" and it has a meaning that ranges from intense hate to simple opposition. God also "hated" His chosen people, but He loved them. God bless.
Quote:
Abraham Rihbany (The Syrian Christ, 98f) points to the use of "hate" in the Bible as an example of linguistic extreme in an Eastern culture. There is no word, he notes, for "like" in the Arabic tongue. "...[T]o us Orientals the only word which can express and cordial inclination of approval is 'love'." The word is used even of casual acquaintances. Extreme language is used to express even moderate relationships.
Luke 14:26 falls into a category of "extreme language," the language of absoluteness used to express a preference, and may refer to disattachment, indifference, or nonattachment without any feelings of revulsion involved. To seal this matter completely, let's look at some parallel materials which prove our point. The closest example comes from
Genesis 29:30-1
And he went in also unto Rachel, and he loved also Rachel more than Leah, and served with him yet seven other years. And when the LORD saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb: but Rachel was barren.
Here, "hated" is clearly used synonymously with one who is loved less. Let it be added that if Jacob hated Leah in a literal way, it is hardly believable that he would consent to take her as his wife at all! (See also Judges 14:16 and Deut. 21:15-17.)
Noone said you had to agree with me. Show me a verse where is says God Loves Everyone. If he loves everyone why isn't everyone going to be saved and going to heaven?
Deerdog sorry mate you are clutching at straws . God loves workers of iniquity
Romans chapter 5 verse 8 God demonstrated His love towards us in while we yet sinners (workers of iniquity) Christ died for us.
Yes, when the bible uses the word "hate" it is not talking about an extreme human hatred. It is usually a metaphor or hyperbole to indicate preference.
Should we hate our parents?:
Luke 14:26
If any man come to me (Jesus), and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
Or love our parents?:
Mat 19:19 Honor thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
Clearly "hate" can be used to only signify a preference. We should prefer God over our parents. But we still must love our parents. The bible is not teaching us to literally hate our parents.
Titus 3 1Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed, 2to malign no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing every consideration for all men. 3For we also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. 4But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, 5He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, 6whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior

Excellent for an article full of strawmans.
God is a God of love (1 John 4:8, 16). God’s love for all of mankind results in the fact that God shows His mercy by not immediately punishing people for their sins (Romans 3:23; 6:23). God’s love for the world is manifested in the fact that He gives people the opportunity to repent.......
Does God love everyone? Yes. Does God love Christians more than He loves non-Christians? No. Does God love Christians to a different extent than He loves non-Christians? Yes. God loves everyone equally in that He is merciful to all. God only loves Christians in that only Christians have His eternal grace and mercy and the promise of His forever love in heaven. The unconditional love God has for everyone should bring us to faith in Him, receiving in thankfulness the great conditional love He grants all those who receive Jesus Christ as Savior........
