In the northeast, people almost never say philly's full name. My uncle has lived there his whole life and I dont think i've heard him ever say "philadelphia". He always says philly or phil or sometimes illadelph but never the full name.
Though it seems people either from or not use Philly and LA
Others like H-town seem more common among the residents while those outside hardly use
Another not mentioned to me is for NYC, just the reference as the "City"
Its a Southern thang you wouldn't understand...everyone in the Dirty South calls Houston either H-Town or Screwston, even people in Louisiana, Mississppi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, etc.

I think 305 is used far more than MIA. If you told somebody about MIA, they'd probably think you're talking about missing in action or something.
