I believe it is approved. The first tower just started construction a few months ago. (I think)

These 20,000+ units will all built by 2016 basically. This is not a 20 year master plan, these are individual buildings begin built across the city now. What is the timeline on the Hudson Yards development? If you want to include long range master plans, we can do that but D.C. has that on lock.

I'm not sure what the timeline is. Just pointing out that a plan for just one tiny sliver of Manhattan has more units than all of DC's development. I don't know enough about other things in NYC to get this started, so it'd be hard to make a complete list to compare.

Approved... and a few of the buildings are already under construction.

The 895 foot coach tower is already underway

Philadelphia has a similar development happening to the Hudson Yards, albeit on a smaller scale.

Cira Centre South. The first and smaller tower is already under construction and will be 33 floors and 430 feet with 375 luxury apartments. The taller tower has started site prep and will break ground next year and rise 47 floors and 656 feet, making it the 6th tallest building in Philadelphia. The tower will have almost 600,000 sq feet of office space and 260 luxury apartments. The complex is being built over active Amtrak, SEPTA and CSX tracks.

I wonder if there are in any projects in the works for Queens and the Bronx.

Fixed that for you......

D.C. has way more large 200+ unit projects going on in the same land mass as NYC when it comes to new construction of large buildings and it's not close. Keep in mind those 20,000 units are being built in about 8 square miles. If I included all the other area's of D.C. proper I didn't post and Bethesda MD, Silver Spring MD, Arlington VA, and Alexandria VA which would still be smaller than the NYC proper land footprint, this gap is huge. Shoot, just look at Silver Spring and Bethesda which are dwarfed by Arlington and Alexandria in development:

Downtown Silver Spring high-rise's either under construction or about to break ground:

The Blairs Master Plan#: (2,800 Units)
Eleven55 Ripley (379 Units)
Citron Apartments (241 Units)
8711 Georgia Avenue (160 Units)
http://www.jbgr.com/images/inner/pro...klandNorth.pdf (1,200 Units)
Solaire (286 Units)
The Galaxy (195 Units)
8021 Georgia Avenue (210 Units)
Studio Plaza (600 Units)

Total Units: 6,071 Units

Downtown Bethesda high-rise's either under construction or about to break ground

7770 Norfolk (244 Units)
Woodmont View (46 Units)
The Lauren (25 Units)
4915 Hampden Lane (60 Units)
8300 Wisconsin Avenue (300 Units)
7900 Wisconsin (475 Units)
The Fairmont (70 Units)
The Gallery of Bethesda (234 Units)
The Gallery of Bethesda II (221 Units)
Arlington Road (145 Units)
The Darcy (88 Units)
7001 Arlington Road (140 Units)
Bainbridge Bethesda (200 Units)
The Flats (Lot 31) (162 Units)

Total Units: 2,410 Units

Let me reiterate, I have no clue as to the rest of NYC's development.

D.C. is at the top of the mountain in sustainability and TOD and you need to read up on current events if you didn't know. No city comes close to D.C. in major urban development right now and it's not close:
