And the updated renderings for the George Lucas Museum of Narrative Arts was released to the public. This will be on Museum Campus near the Art Institute, Field Museum, etc:
I thought of something pretty cool today.. Philly currently has the 4 buildings being built that will each be the tallest building in there respected section of the city.
What makes most of these buildings special to is that they are going to be mixed use and incorporate good jobs. Not just billionaire playhouses that the rest of us can just marvel at.

We'll do another one of these next month, as the cranes for Circa and Oceanwide Plaza (5 more towers) should be erected by then.
Amazing! This looks just like Capital Riverfront in D.C. I think Downtown LA and Capital Riverfront in D.C. may be two of the most booming neighborhoods in America outside of NYC.
It looks nothing like the Capital Riverfront in DC. Both have a lot of cranes, but Capital Riverfront is one [relatively small] area that is seeing some mid-rises go up, and DTLA is one of the largest downtowns in America seeing a supertall and many many skyscrapers, mid-rises, and low-rise apartments go up.
Looks like DTLA will have pretty good density in the next ~10 years. Will definitely become a "real" downtown. Also, finally some supertalls west of Chicago.

I didn't mean from a height of buildings standpoint, I meant from a construction standpoint. There are 12 projects under construction in Capital Riverfront in D.C. with 9 more breaking ground in the next 3 quarters. Also, with your logic, you can't compare downtown DC and downtown LA at all because downtown DC has nothing taller than 14 stories either. Capital Riverfront is built the same way as downtown D.C. with almost all buildings rising to between 12-14 stories.
^^^No. You were comparing a development area in/around DT DC to all of DTLA. Height of buildings in my mind really has nothing to do with it.
Capital Riverfront is comparable at some scale to Mission Bay in SF or Seaport in Boston. Brand new relatively downtown adjacent areas of elevated innovation being developed from scratch on waterfront/reclaimed land.
To compare Capital Riverfront to all of DTLA, in any capacity (height, number of apt units or office sf, integration, design, etc) is faulty and for someone who claims to be in the urban design industry, seems odd.
Personally, I would compare Playa Vista (near LA) more to Capital Riverfront. Different looks and feel, but holistically a similar concept and similar development thesis.

No, I was comparing construction numbers in two sub-markets. You're doing the most. Nobody was comparing the built environment. I was giving LA major props and have been doing so for months in this thread. Chill out dude!
