Philadelphia, D.C., and Boston are three cities that I would love to visit. I am planning on going to one within the next couple of years, so I'm beginning to do some research on them. So far, Boston sounds like it would be the most fun, but what do you guys think?
If I hadn't been to any of them, I'd start with DC. Boston and Philadelphia are cool cities that should be on a "must visit" list too, but DC should be first. It's also the cheapest vacation option --- many of its attractions are free.

Agreed-for a tourist DC is the best option. Philly is close though and has better nightlife IMO.
I'd visit all of them if you could? I don't think it matter where you start. What interests you more? I'm from Boston, there's a lot to do. I've been to D.C. once and it was wicked fun. I've actually never been to Philly but I voted for it just to give it some love. I know there must be a thousand things to do there.
How many days are you gonna vacation in one of these cities? If you're interested in anything DC, I got you covered on the things that you can check out
I think it really depends on what you're looking to do and what your budget is. DC, despite being an expensive city, is a great place for someone looking for a vacation on a budget. It's quite common to stay somewhere in Virginia slightly less expensive and metro in on the Orange Line (Buy a SmarTrip--the surcharge for the paper tickets costs the same as buying the card and everyone will like you better). DC is also unparalleled for quality free museums and attractions.
I could probably sing praises of all of these and if you're not really on a budget or aren't looking for museums (or are only looking for art museums, e.g.), I may recommend something different. What are you looking to do?

I'd like to spend about five days to a week there.
