What are you talking about? The source is absolutely, 100% correct.

You don't understand how to do simple addition? You get CSAs by adding up the component MSAs. The feds provide the economic data at the smallest (MSA) level.

Why would an economist not quote GDP by CSA? That makes no sense.

CSAs are Census-derived metrics and obviously widely used.

All you have to do is show me where in the BEA website does it show CSA numbers. That's really all you have to do.

Oh, you're too busy yammering on about addition even though some CSA's have micropolitan areas that aren't added to the CSAs here. Thank you

GDP by CSA is not quoted because they don't exist. BEA doesn't produce the measurement. Economists don't either.

Maybe they could use some addition where some parts of the said "CSA" are cut off, so the numbers become completely arbitrary.

Even an "insigificant" difference is still a difference -- making the numbers untrustworthy from the get go. Please
